Kauai

Dale and I were fortunate to get to have one last big trip before the baby is born. We honeymooned in Hawaii, and we've wanted to go back ever since. This time we spent a week in Kauai. Here are some highlights from our trip!
We arrived Saturday, September 6th. We stayed on the north side of the island in Princeville. Sunday we visited a nearby beach...Hanalei Bay. Here's my hottie with a body!
We had dinner at the Princeville resort that night. This is the view from the deck of the resort.
Here's the view at sunset. So beautiful!
On Monday we took a little kayaking, hiking, swimming adventure. Here's me on the front of the kayak.
Here's where we banked our kayaks and started our hike.
Our hike ended at this beautiful hidden waterfall where we had lunch.
Dale took a little swim under the fall.
That night we had dinner at a cool restaurant right on the beach.
Here's the view from the restaurant.
On Tuesday we visited another beach called Tunnels on the north side of the island. The beach is near this huge dry cave.
Tunnels was our favorite beach, but it's a little bit of a hike to get there. It's totally worth it though, look at the view!!!
Had to put in another HOT picture of my sweetie!
We both went snorkeling for the first time ever at Tunnels. We saw a ton of fish, but we didn't get any good pictures of them.
This was my favorite "fish" to watch:)
On Wednesday we went on a tubing adventure floating down some really old irrigation ditches and through some dark tunnels. They took us on a little tour before we went tubing. The mountain in the background of this picutre is the highest point on the island.
This is right after we finished our tubing adventure. We had to wear the headlamps to see in the dark tunnels. If you look closely, you can see my "baby bump."
On Thursday Dale went ATVing. I couldn't join him since I'm pregnant, so I hung out at the beach.
While I was at Poipu beach, this huge Monk Seal came up on the beach to take a nap.
After I picked Dale up from ATVing, he went snorkeling again.
On Friday we went up to Waimea Canyon. It's known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific." It's breathtaking!
I liked this picture because the water is so blue, you can't tell where the water ends and where the sky begins!
We took a little hike at the top of the canyon.
On the way back from Waimea, we stopped by Puka Dog for a snack. These are Hawaiian style hot dogs, and they're actually really delicious! We'd definitely recommend them.
Here's Dale enjoying his Puka Dog.
Funny story here. On Monday I really wanted some soft serve frozen yogurt. And Dale, being the wonderful supportive husband of his pregnant wife, helped me find a place, Zack's, that sold some. We bought it and realized that it tasted funny...actually, more gross than funny. We brought it back to Zack's, and the lady immediately said, "it doesn't taste right, does it?" We agreed, and she said, "sorry, no refunds." That wasn't the worst part. For the next five hours we burped that stuff up, and the burps tasted worse than the initial yogurt. Not a fun experience, but one we'll always remember and laugh about!
And that about wraps up our trip! We had a blast and would definitely recommend the island to anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii!
